VITO glazing tapes are made from closed-cell polyethylene foam and are equipped one one side with an environmentally-friendly adhesive. Thanks to their elasticity, they compensate for movements caused by wind, temperature and changes in humidity. In this way, they ensure a permanently weather-resistant and reliable glazing joint.
A further advantage: glazing tapes improve sound insulation and reliably prevent noise transmission. VITO glazing tapes are free from plasticizers, possess high peel and shear strengths, and are compatible with common elastic sealants. They can be used within a temperature range of –80°C to +50°C.
Application and processing
- Ensure a permanently elastic glazing joint in conjunction with commercially available sealants.
- Easy to apply, generally without a primer (recommended only for uneven or porous substrates).
- Recommended application temperature: +1 °C to +30 °C
- The glass rebate must be dry and free from dust and release agents
- Do not expose to direct UV radiation for extended periods
Standards and recommendations
According to the guidelines of the Institute for Window Technology in Rosenheim and the Hadamar school for glass technology, glazing tapes should be applied on the outside as well as on the indoor side. This ensures optimal absorption of the elastic sealants.

- From Stress group 5: A special glazing tape is required - our recommendation is VITOGLAS 110
